SEMINARS

The department of Chemistry sponsors weekly one-hour seminars featuring world renown scientists presenting diverse and interdisciplinary research topics. Refreshments are served, and each seminar is generally followed by a question and answer period.

COLLOQUIA

The department also sponsors colloquia featuring a distinguished speaker. These events are followed by a wine and cheese reception designed for more interaction with the guest speaker. The Chemistry Graduate Student Association sponsors one colloquium each semester.

DOCTORAL CANDIDATE THESIS DEFENSE

Doctoral candidates are required to present a thesis defense seminar which is open to the department, and is generally held toward the end of the semester.

Unless otherwise noted, most seminars are held at 4 pm in Dell Butcher Hall 180. Check the Chemistry Seminar Calendars link for specific details.
