Campus Tree Map: A teaching resource used for BIOS 336: Plant Diversity, this map is maintained by students in the class as they learn to identify the trees and shrubs on campus. Botany Garden: Located between the Keith-Weiss Geological Labs and Anderson Biological Labs, the botany garden is a living laboratory for students of botany classes. The garden contains plants useful for teaching plant classification, giving students the opportunity to see and study plants they previously could see only in textbooks.
Harris Gully Natural Area: An ongoing project of students in BIOS 316: Plant Diversity is to study the plant communities of this natural stand of trees on the Rice campus. For a list of species in the Harris Gully Natural Area, click here. For photos of the Harris Gully Natural Area, click here.
Natural History Database: Biology students maintain this database of flora and fauna on the Rice campus.
