Friends of the Lowrey Arboretum
The arboretum was created as a result of a fundraising effort spearheaded by Charles Tapley (Class of 1960), architect and landscape architect, and Patsy and Mike Anderson, Lowrey family members. So far, more than $500,000 has been raised for the project. Donors are gratefully acknowledged as Friends of the Lowrey Arboretum and receive our seasonal newsletter.

Make a gift to the arboretum
If you would like to help support the arboretum's growth, consider becoming a Friend of the Lowrey Arboretum. Your support will help us care for the arboretum species, document their growth, and increase the size of the arboretum collection. To make a donation, first go to the Rice University giving site here. Then, under "Designation", select "Other" and under special instructions, type in "Lowrey Arboretum". You may also make your gift by mail, using the printable form available here. On the form, under the section "Gift Designation", designate your gift as "Other" and under special instructions, write "Lowrey Arboretum".

Memorial gifts to the Lynn Lowrey Arboretum at Rice University
There are several ways to make a memorial gift to the Arboretum fund as outlined below.  Donors wishing to consider a gift should contact the Arboretum staff directly.

Arboretum donors who make gifts of $100.00 or greater to the Arboretum are invited to place a memorial, or other personalized dedication, inside the Arboretum Dedication Register, which is part of the Fondren Library collection on the Rice campus. 

Outdoor spaces on the campus are not normally named, with the exception of named trees in honor of employees who have completed extensive periods of service with the university.  A  number of opportunities for named spaces, inside various buildings, are available at gift levels of $25,000 or greater. 

Any gift to the Lynn Lowery Arboretum at Rice will entitle the donor to become a member of the Friends of the Arboretum at Rice University, and to receive annual updates about our activities.
