 Barbara Bryson FAIA 2009
 Barbara White Bryson, FAIA, MBA

Barbara White Bryson is the Associate Vice President for Facilities, Engineering & Planning at Rice University. Barbara has been working with Rice for nearly a decade, stewarding the campus through two large construction programs and, since 2004, leading the facilities, engineering and central plant operations. In 2008, Barbara was recognized by the AIA and elevated to the institute’s College of Fellows for her integrated planning work at the University of Miami and Rice University as well as for her role in leading design and construction efforts on the Rice campus. Barbara attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, received a B.S. from the University of Texas–Arlington and her M.B.A. at the University of Miami. She is a former board member of AIAHouston and the RDA and currently serves on the board for the Rice Building Institute and the Design Future’s Council for Design Intelligence.

 

David Rodd 2009

 
David J. Rodd, LEED AP

David Rodd is the University Architect and has been with Rice since 1999. In his previous position as a Senior Project Manager, his role was Campus Master Planning support. As University Architect, David continues to oversee Campus Master Planning assuring the continued high standards of architectural design, engineering and construction on the Rice campus. David is a graduate of Rice with a B.A. and a Bachelor of Architecture. He is a Registered Architect in Texas and a LEED Accredited Professional.

 

Russell Price 2009

 
Russell Price, MBA

Russell brings an extensive experience in facilities management in his role as Assistant Vice President of Facilities. His expertise includes an array of technical, administrative and customer service experience in industrial and academic environments. He holds a B.S. in Civil Technology and Construction Management and received his MBA from the Jesse Jones Graduate School of Management. Russell also holds a Journeyman Electrician's License and many continuing education certifications. Russell is active within the campus community and serves as a Baker College associate.

 

Doug Tomlinson 2009

 
Doug Tomlinson, P.E.

Doug Tomlinson has been with Rice since June of 2000. He is a Registered Professional Engineer with a Master's degree in Civil Engineering. Doug oversees the University's Central Plant, Energy Management, Operations Analysis, Project Management, and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

 

 

Jane Healey 2009

 
Jane Healey

Jane has been with Rice University for 10 years and is a degreed accountant and CPA. She provides leadership in the areas of budgeting, auditing, accounting, and business management support. She oversees the administrative functions within the FE&P office and the Material Support Shop.

 

Ana Ramirez AIA 2009

 
Ana Ramirez, AIA

Ana earned her B.E.D. at Texas A&M University. She is both a Registered Architect and a Registered Interior Designer in Texas. Ana is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the AIA Houston Chapter and the Texas Society of Architects/AIA. She has worked at Rice since 1992.

 

Eusebio Franco 2009

 
Eusebio Franco

After ten years of increasing responsibilities through the supervisory ranks at the University of Houston, Eusebio Franco came to Rice University. Within a few years, he was promoted to Director of Custodial and Grounds. His passion at Rice is mentoring and working with people to create a clean and beautiful environment on campus. He helped implement Rice's highly acclaimed "Cleanology" standards that provides advanced cleaning training for custodial staff. He has recently established "Green Clean" standards intended to use environmentally-friendly products and energy saving techniques.

 

Kathy Jones LEED AIA 2009

 
Kathleen K. Jones, AIA, LEED AP

Kathy joined Rice in May of 2006 as the Senior Project Manager for the construction of the BioScience Research Collaborative. Her expertise includes both architecture and construction. A graduate from the University of Texas, Kathy is a Registered Architect in Texas and a LEED Accredited Professional.

 

Hugh Ton That 2009

 
Hugh Ton-That, P.E.

Hugh Ton-That was promoted to the position of Maintenance Manager after serving the university as a Staff Engineer. Hugh has over twenty years of experience in HVAC and plumbing, engineering and construction. His area of expertise includes building systems, central plant tunnel distribution systems, campus utility infrastructure and project management. He received a B.S. in mechcanical engineering from the University of Michigan and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.

 

Richard Johnson 2009

 

Richard R. Johnson

Richard received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Rice University, and a Masters in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia. He came into the newly-created position of sustainability planner in 2004. In 2007, he was promoted to the position of Director of Sustainability. In this role he coordinates, supports, leads, and provides technical assistance for a broad range of campus sustainability initiatives, including high-performance "green" building, recycling, energy conservation, and environmental education. Richard also serves as the Associate Director of the Center for the Study of Environment and Society (CSES). Richard holds an appointment as a Professor in the Practice of Environmental Studies in Sociology and has taught several classes at Rice. Richard is also a research fellow for the Center on Race, Religion, and Urban Life (CORRUL), and serves as the President of the Board of the Houston Farmers' Market.

 

Patrick Dwyer 2009

 
Patrick J. Dwyer

In his role as Senior Project Manager, Pat oversees and coordinates all lab projects for Engineering and Natural Sciences and assists the Provost with space management on campus. He holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Houston and is a Registered Architect in Texas. Pat has been with Rice University since 2000.

 

Susann Glenn 2009

 
Susann Glenn

Susann Glenn came back to Rice in 2007 as Manager of Communications for Facilities Engineering and Planning. Her primary focus is providing departmental support for the entire FE&P staff to develop effective communication strategies for the organization with a special focus on maintenance and construction. Susann is the primary contact for the public and campus community regarding the daily operations of FE&P, progress of construction and campus tours. Susann is very involved in the campus community; she is president of HOOTS (High Order of Owl Tailgating Society) and an associate at Duncan College.
