Title: Intracellular Delivery Molecular-Specific Optical Contrast Agents

Agency: NIH

PI: Rebecca Richards-Kortum

Abstract:
The goal of this project is to develop a robust strategy for intracellular delivery molecular-specific optical contrast agents into live cells and tissues.  We aim to: 1) develop an efficient, reproducible, and scalable strategy for intracellular delivery of optical contrast agents into live cells, 2) evaluate the feasibility of targeting human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) in live cells and fresh tissues, 3) translate intracellular delivery strategies for topical permeation of multi-layer mucosal tissues, and 4) design a systematic methodology for assessing the effectiveness of intracellular delivery strategies.
