Welcome

We develop novel cell and molecular imaging modalities to improve the early detection and treatment of cancer.  These quantitative optical imaging and spectroscopy devices use low power light sources, fiber optics and semiconductor detectors to provide painless, instantaneous diagnosis.  We collaborate with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center to conduct clinical trials to develop and evaluate imaging systems and their impact on health care costs.  We seek to optimize these systems by understanding the interaction between light and tissue at the microscopic and biochemical levels.
