Ronald P. NordgrenProfessor Emeritus, Engineering and Research ProfessorMechanics of Solids, Offshore Engineering, Petroleum Production Engineering Dr. Ronald P. Nordgren is a Research Professor and Herman and George R. Brown Professor of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Emeritus. He was a member of the faculty at Rice University for twelve years following a career as a research engineer in the petroleum industry. His research involved the application of the mechanics of solids to problems in offshore engineering and petroleum technology. Currently, he is conducting independent research on the theory of deformable shells. He is available of consultation with students and occasionally he teaches a course at the graduate level. Dr. Nordgren is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. |
