Graduate and Post-doctoral Multi-disciplinary Teaching Teams
Help train the next generation of students to reach beyond traditional disciplinary and geographic borders to understand, address, and solve global health disparities
The Beyond Traditional Borders initiative offers an interdisciplinary curriculum to train undergraduate students in the development and implementation of appropriate technologies that address global health challenges. We are looking for Rice University post-doctoral fellows and graduate students who want to enhance their teaching skills - in particular ontopics concerning global health challenges and technologies - in preparation for future positions on faculty. Fellowship positions are open to Rice University post-doctoral research associates in biotechnology and bioengineering, humanities, social science, and policy studies.

Fall Semester Course « APPLICATION DEADLINE August 1»
- Participate in a team of instructors teaching an integrated curriculum in global health technologies
- Observe best practices of inquiry-based teaching, develop inquiry-based materials, and learnstrategies to assess student learning
- Gain experience through mentored teaching of two 30-minute half lectures
- Each teaching team co-instructor will receive a $250 stipend
BIOE 260: Introduction to Global Health Issues
Spring Semester Course « APPLICATION DEADLINE November 30»
- Guest lecture in a course introducing a range of topics important to the attainment of health inpeople across the world, and the role technology can play in addressing problems in healthcare
- Share case-studies and expertise in a discipline relevant to the attainment of global health
- Rice teaching fellows will receive a $250 stipend, non-Rice fellows will be given travel support
