Science, Math, & Technology Camp for Girls a Success in Malawi

In an inaugural teaching partnership between the University of Malawi and BTB, a 2 week SMT camp was held in July at Bunda College outside Lilongwe in an effort to increase the number of women studying the sciences at the university level.

Hailing from across Malawi, 18 teachers were trained in Bioengineering and World Health topics by BTB staff and interns, while 36 female high school students attended sessions in higher level math, science, and bioengineering.
