Dr. Stacey Kalovidouris
Dr. Stacey Kalovidouris is the Executive Director of the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering (IBB) at Rice University. IBB is devoted to facilitating interdisciplinary research and education, fostering ties with the Texas Medical Center, creating partnerships with industry, promoting the translation of research, and continuing to facilitate strong research and training programs.
Dr. Kalovidouris received her B.A. in Biochemistry from Swarthmore College and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles. She performed postdoctoral research in chemistry and chemical engineering at the California Institute of Technology. Most recently, she was a Senior Scientist at Insert Therapeutics, Inc., in Pasadena, CA.
Lisa Sanger Blinn is the Associate Director of the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering (IBB) at Rice University. She joined the IBB staff in April 2009, after serving as the Administrative Director of the Gulf Coast Consortia, a multi-institutional research and training collaborative based at Rice University, since 2003.
Lisa received a B.A. in History from Bard College in New York. Prior to coming to Rice, she was the director of operational support for the Houston regional office of Teach For America, a middle school teacher in the Houston Independent School District, and a program services coordinator for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Dyani Banda is a Program Coordinator for the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering (IBB) at Rice University. She joined IBB in June 2009.
Kimberly M'Carver is a Program Coordinator for the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering (IBB) at Rice University. She joined IBB in October 2006, and has been at Rice since 1994. She studied as an opera/voice major at UT Austin, and received a B.S. in Anthropology from the University of Houston, as well as an A.A.S. (holding licensure as a Registered Veterinary Technician). A Texas Singer/Songwriter, she is a member of the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences, and both a writer & publisher member of BMI. She has written, performed, & co-produced three published cds as a recording artist with both Rounder Records (MA) and Fifty/Fifty Music (NY).
