Predoc and Postdoc Fellowship Applications (deadline is Sept. 15, 2003) -Please note new material required as of Jan. 2003: current resume and 2 "non-mentor" recommendations letters. These may be sent to: keckcenter@rice.edu.
Note: this form is for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships. All Keck fellows work with a mentor who is one of the current Keck faculty researchers. Students should approach a prospective Keck Center mentor, as well as the Center's Training Directors for further advice before beginning the application process.
All Keck Center research takes place in Houston by trainees who are enrolled at or hold other appointments at either Baylor College of Medicine, Rice University, University of Houston, UT Health Science Center - Houston, UT Medical Branch-Galveston, or UT M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. There are no off-site appointments to this program. If you are not planning to apply to one of these institutions or are not already enrolled or appointed at one of these schools, please do not send an application form without first contacting the Executive Director (keckcenter@bioc.rice.edu or 713-348-4752) or potential mentors.
Applicants for the predoctoral training programs must be accepted or applying to an existing departmental or inter-departmental degree-granting program at one of the three supporting institutions. Pre-doctoral students are expected to enroll either in a natural sciences program and take additional computer-oriented coursework, or in a computer or computational science program and take additional courses in biological science.
Funded fellowships support is available only from National Library of Medicine/NIH, and the Keck Foundation.
Application Checklist as of January 2003:
- Your mentor(s) must submit an on-line Mentor recommendation form. (Postdocs need both primary and secondary mentors).
- Submit 2 Letters of Recommendation from people other than your mentors. Can be by email to Keck Center office or by mail.
- Mail or fax us your a) Transcript and b) Proof of Citizenship (birth certificate; passport; Drivers License; Social Security Card).
- A current resume outlining your professional work experience and history
