What are the housing options for trainees?
An applicant should contact the institution with which they plan to be / are affiliated. Trainees should contact their home institution.
What are the tuition and fees?
Refer to the GCC / Keck Center home institution for this information.
Is there a citizenship requirement?
The Keck Center has programs with and without citizenship requirements, both for pre and post doctoral trainees.
When should I apply?
Each training program sets its own deadlines. Check the individual Keck Center training program websites for updates. You may also contact the GCC/Keck Center or the Keck Center Institutional Training Director for your institution for the most current information.
Training programs generally accept applications in the spring or fall.
How do I apply?
Once applicants have identified a Keck Center training program to which to apply, they should review the program's Application Info and Forms pages for specific instructions. Each training program has its own application forms which can be found within the Application Info and Forms page for a specific training program.
How much is the stipend?
Stipends vary by training program. Contact the GCC / Keck Center for more information.
How long is the support?
The term of a fellowship appointment varies by training program and is available on the training program website or via contact with the GCC / Keck Center.
What other financial benefits are available to Keck Fellows?
Financial benefits vary by Keck Center training program. Often programs provide a stipend and some support for tuition, fees, and health insurance. Some programs may provide allowances for travel and research supplies.

Can I take classes at institutions other than the one I am enrolled in?
Yes. Check with the Registrar at the home institution for specific guidelines. Contact the GCC / Keck Center for additional help if needed.
What intellectual resources are available to Keck Fellows?
There is a wealth of intellectual resources available to trainees in Keck Center training programs. Some training programs require trainees to attend an annual meeting at NIH, generally held in the summer. In addition to the ability to access journal clubs, seminars, workshops, and other scientific events within the GCC / Keck Center member institutions, Keck Fellows can participate in the following Keck Center sponsored activities:
- Weekly Keck Seminar during the spring and fall academic semesters
- Annual Research Conference (Fall)
- Monthly Training Program Fellows Meeting
- Sealy Structural Biology Symposium (Spring).
