Seed Grant Programs
The GCC Chemical Genomics operates two separate seed grant programs. The Dunn Foundation program is focused on the development of assays and the application of screens (both siRNA and small molecule screens) to molecular targets of particular biologic targets. The first round of RFAs for this program was focused on funding for assay development projects and funded eight projects with two additional proposals funded using matching funding from other sources.
Discovery Project Pilot Grants
2007 Recipients
A second round of RFAs for the Dunn Foundation program focused on a smaller number of larger projects to support the actual high-throughput screening of compounds and/or siRNAs against relevant molecular targets and funded four projects.
Screening Grant Program
2009 Recipients
In addition to the Dunn “biology” seed grant program, the GCC Chemical Genomics has sponsored a seed grant program in the area of chemistry and drug discovery funded by a grant ($1.6M) from the Welch Foundation. The first round RFA for the Welch program focused on proposals to address advancement in the application of combined computational and synthetic chemistry to the process of target-based drug discovery and funded six projects.
Welch Foundation Chemistry and Biology Collaborative Grants
2008 Recipients
A second round of Welch program seed grants is anticipated in the Winter 2009.
