NLM Training Program Steering Committee
Leadership for the NLM training program is provided by a steering committee consisting of faculty members from participating institutions. Dr. Tony Gorry, the NLM Training Program director, chairs the steering committee. The committee members are selected based on research interests to provide a balance of expertise in the biological and computational/mathematical sciences.
The NLM Steering Committee makes decisions about applicants for traineeships and about addition of faculty mentors to the program. Steering committee members share responsibility for customizing each student’s curriculum, and participate in annual reviews with trainees and mentors to assess progress. Through its frequent, regular meetings, the NLM Training Committee ensures that important decisions are made in a timely fashion. The Committee also makes monthly reports to the Keck Center's Executive Committee. To learn more about the Keck Executive Committee and its role, visit the Gulf Coast Consortia.
