Our Mission

The purpose of the Gulf Coast Consortium for Protein Crystallography is to foster excellent cross-disciplinary research and education in the field of protein crystallography. The GCC for Protein Crystallography will serve as a means of building and maintaining an X-ray beamline stop at the Louisiana State University synchrotron that will be a key resource for modern crystallography in the Gulf Coast Area. The GCPCC beamline serves as a regional research and training facility. It will accelerate the solution of new structures by providing improved access to a MAD capable synchrotron radiation beamline. Located close to the consortium laboratories, the beamline will facilitate the participation of new students in the solution of protein and nucleic acid structures.
