Travel Logistics Information

Hotel

One night of hotel stay will be included for those participants traveling from outside of Houston. If you wish to stay two nights you will have to pay for the second night yourself. Please contact Julia Amborski (jambor@rice.edu) if you wish to to arrange this. We have booked a block of rooms at the Hilton Houston Plaza Medical Center.

Domestic Travel

For those traveling to the workshop from outside of the Houston area we will reimburse up to $250 of travel expenses (airfare or mileage).

• Original receipts will be required for all reimbursements of airfare and/or transportation.
• If you are traveling to Houston by car, we will reimburse you $0.45 per mile. We will prvovide mileage reimbursement forms at the workshop.
• We will pay for parking at the Hilton Hotel. 
• We will pay for parking at Trevisio for all participants.

Directions from Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH):

1. From Intercontinental's terminal road, follow signs to US 59 South.
2. Once on US 59 proceed south approximately 25 miles and exit at Greenbriar.
3. Turn left under US 59 and follow Greenbriar to the light at Rice Boulevard.
4. Turn left onto Rice Boulevard. Rice campus entry gates will be on your right.

Directions from Houston Hobby Airport (HOU):

1. From Hobby's parking area, exit onto Broadway and follow signs to I-45 North.
2. Take I-45 North approximately 6 miles to US 59 South.
3. Once on US 59 proceed south approximately 3 miles and exit at Greenbriar.
4. Turn left under US 59 and follow Greenbriar to the light at Rice Boulevard.
5. Turn left onto Rice Boulevard. Rice campus entry gates will be on your right.

Shuttle Service

SuperShuttle offers shuttle service from the airport to your hotel.  Reservations can be made online at www.supershuttle.com or by phone at 1-800-BLUE-VAN (258-3826). The rates are as follows:

1) Bush Airport (IAH) - $27.00 each way

IAH - After you claim your luggage, proceed to one of the SuperShuttle ticket counters, which are located at terminals A, B, C & D at the lower level baggage claim area.

2) Hobby Airport (HOU) - $23.00 each way

After you claim your luggage, proceed to the SuperShuttle ticket counter, which is located inside the baggage claim area on the lower level.

Taxis are also available outside the terminal.
