High Impact Learning

Did you know that . . .

  • only 10 - 15% of training "sticks" and leads to performance improvement back on the job?
  • greater than 85% of training is lost if learners don't use the new skills or knowledge immediately, or don't get follow-up support from their manager?

These are pretty grim statistics . . . but we can disprove them! Here's how.

By shifting our focus from "Quality of Training" and "Importance to Business" to "On the Job Application of Learning" and "Importance to Business," we also can shift the return on our training investment from good to great.

Think you don't pay for training because we don't charge you to send your folks to our classes? Think again! Every hour an employee spends in the training classroom is an hour that he or she is not doing the job back in your department. That's not necessarily a problem . . . unless the employee does nothing with those newly acquired skills back on the job.

Here's how it works:

  • manager/supervisor meets with learner prior to training session to create focus and intentionality using an impact map
  • learner attends high quality program to enhance capabilities
  • manager/supervisor meets with learner after the training session to create an action plan for supporting performance improvement

Those three simple steps are what it takes to create a positive impact on the results produced, and the skills retained, back on the job post-training.
